The Bread Company Project

Objective

The objective of this project is to successfully incorporate skills learned chapters
1-3 of your Dreamweaver book.

Scenario

You are applying to become webmaster of The Bread Company (TBC) and must create a site to show your work.  You are competing against several other Web designers for the job.  TBC specializes in regional bread.  You can pick the city and the type of breads and baked goods the company makes.  The company bakes and delivers breads throughout the region to restaurants and small gourmet specialty markets.


Project Information

Phase 1: Research

  • Submit Web site content saved in a Word document with headings & sub headings.  
  • Collect images in a folder
  • Keep in mind you need to include the following:
    • A List
    • A Table
    • An Image(s) with Hotspots.

Turn It In: File Named: pX_lastname_research | Copy/Paste Dropbox 20 points

Ideas: 

  • Home Page - You can also discuss the quality of the ingredients you use and why your product is superior to your competitors. 
  • Products Page - Show off the baked goods such as breads, muffins, scones, croissants, etc.
    • Price must be addressed in your site.
  •  Contact Page - Contact information, locations and e-mail links.
    • Use maps with hotspots to enhance the user's Web experience.
  • Search bakeries on the Web for more ideas

Phase 2:  Submit storyboards for ALL pages. (See Storyboard handout) Use Kuler for color selections  | Bin 15 points

Phase 3:  Begin Site in Dreamweaver

  • Design a banner or logo for the site that is creative and appropriate. (Use Fireworks, Word, or any image editor)
  • Watch the Banner video in the Classwork folder or on Youtube at home

Phase I:

Question: How do I collect my research?
Answer: Copy your research into a Word document. You need to have headings clearly labeled for each topic. I suggest you copy/paste the URL's for all research and pictures you collect into your Word document for future reference.
